Exhibition Introduction:

"Taiwan Landscape" is a 320-meter long, 1.8-meter high ink wash painting completed by Professor Xu Wenrong, a native of Changhua, Taiwan, over a period of four years (1992-1996). It holds the world record for the longest Chinese ink wash painting. The painting depicts Taiwan's natural landscapes, folk customs, and cultural development, and has been acclaimed as the modern Taiwanese version of the "Along the River During the Qingming Festival."

KoWen Media and artist Xu Wenrong collaborated, taking "Taiwan Landscape" as the foundation, to digitally transcribe and reproduce it, showcasing Taiwan's natural scenery and traditional festivals, creating an immersive experience rich in cultural and artistic cultivation, suitable for families to enjoy together.

The exhibition is divided into three main components. In the "First Movement," "Taiwan Landscape" is scanned and digitized into high-resolution digital files, then translated into an immersive image script with grandeur. After re-recording ambient music and natural sound effects, it is combined with 3D animation, special effects VFX, and interactive technology to create a new digital image, transforming the static landscape painting into dynamic projections, presenting a new visual perspective on Taiwan's natural and cultural magnificence.

The "Second Movement," "Ink Impressions," symbolizes the free brushstrokes and natural flow of ink, with the composition exuding infinite tension. This work originated from Xu Wenrong's deep realization of the importance of local culture during his overseas residency, and after returning to Taiwan, he spent four years visiting mountains, rivers, and cultural sites to faithfully record the island's diverse landscapes with his brush. The painting not only depicts the alternation of day and night and the changing of seasons, but also gives the scene a sense of flow. Through immersive technology and interactive projection techniques, including 3D modeling, floor animation, particle effects, and other animation design techniques, along with surround sound design, this magnificent ink wash scroll becomes a situational experience, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the depiction of six major Taiwan landmarks: Sandiaojiao Lighthouse, Office of the President, Yangmingshan's Qixing Mountain, National Palace Museum, Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, and Dadaocheng's Dihua Street. Finally, a bird's-eye view map connects these six landmarks, projecting Taiwan's landscape cultural memory, echoing the historical significance of "Taiwan Landscape."

The "Third Movement," XR Guided Journey, allows you to don the Meta Quest 3 VR glasses and travel as a visitor across the shimmering Sun Moon Lake, experience the crystal clear surface of the lake, stand in front of the majestic Shifen Waterfall, ride a mining cart through the misty mountains, and arrive at the mountainous town of Jiufen, strolling through its quaint streets to feel the passage of time and the sedimentation of the years. XR technology allows the audience to be fully immersed! With a 360-degree panoramic view combined with high-quality images, it delicately presents the beauty of Taiwan's nature and culture. Through interactive experiences and free exploration, feel the different landscapes and stories, accompanied by knowledgeable influencers and professional guides, to experience the charm of Taiwan's historical culture and the passage of time. This exhibition also features well-known actor Tu Shancun and stage actor Liao Yuanqing in a crossover performance. This marks Tu Shancun's rare collaboration in his performing career, as his digital 3D image was produced through digital scanning and 3D modeling.

This exhibition is produced by the "Spotlight JiShu" art animation special effects team responsible for the production of immersive images, and the "Leap Realm New Media" video interactive team responsible for the production of interactive effects. By scanning "Taiwan Landscape" into high-resolution digital files, re-recording ambient music and natural sound effects, and combining 3D animation with special effects VFX and interactive technology, a new digital image is synthesized, transforming the static landscape painting into dynamic projections, presenting a new visual perspective on Taiwan's natural and cultural magnificence. Combining fully immersive projections, contemporary ink wash animations, and XR interactive experiences, this three-movement exploration delves deeply into Taiwan's beauty through the interweaving of light and shadow, providing a cultural journey that transcends time and space, taking you through Taiwan's magnificent landscapes and cultural memories, and experiencing the breathtaking fusion of technology and art!
