“When we first learn to see the beauty of Taiwan, the world will follow.”

Located at the very top of Taipei 101, the once-mysterious 101F Fern & Orchid Sanctuary—formerly reserved for heads of state and VVIP guests—has been transformed into the world’s highest sky garden.
More than an observation deck, it is a cloud-level, immersive museum of Taiwanese flora, inviting visitors to rise above the city and experience the proud vitality of this land firsthand.

A Kingdom of Ferns: A Two-Hundred-Million-Year Green Legend

Taiwan is home to over 650 species of ferns, ranking among the highest in the world in terms of species density per land area.

  • Honoring a Living Classic: A special highlight is the Ginkgo Fern (Dipteris), an ancient species dating back 200 million years and a rare ecological symbol of the Taipei Basin.

  • A Three-Dimensional Forest: Through the use of vines, composite moss materials, and diverse fern foliage, the space recreates a richly layered primeval forest—allowing you to breathe in lush greenery even among the clouds.

The Orchid Island of Taiwan: A World-Class Breeding Sanctuary

Taiwanese orchids are internationally renowned for their exceptional quality. Taiwan stands alongside the Tokyo Orchid Show and the World Orchid Conference as one of the three largest orchid exhibition hubs worldwide.

  • Extraordinary Diversity: The exhibition fully showcases the strength of Taiwan’s orchid “brand,” highlighting both its outstanding varieties and world-leading cultivation expertise—offering a rare glimpse into truly world-class breeding achievements.

Masterfully Curated: A Five-Sensory Immersive Vertical Forest

This extraordinary space is curated by Master Ling Tsung-Yung, hailed as “the Light of Taiwanese Floral Art.” Under his vision, the 101F level has been transformed into a series of captivating visual experiences:

  • Entrance Signature Scene: A magnificent Phalaenopsis orchid tree gracefully welcomes guests, paired with cloud-shaped seating, inviting you to enjoy flowers romantically amid the clouds.

  • Waterfall Corridor: The high-table lounge area features cascading floral installations, where lush greenery harmonizes beautifully with Taipei’s skyline beyond the windows.

  • Northeastern Hidden Sanctuary: Tunnel-like mossy hills and organically inspired floral columns, illuminated by bespoke lighting, create an atmosphere of romance—radiant in both sunshine and rain.

Seasonal Exclusives: A Cloud-Level Floral Celebration in Rhythm with Nature

Guided by the natural flow of the seasons, the curatorial team regularly refreshes the featured orchids. Every visit becomes a once-in-a-lifetime encounter, filled with new surprises:

  • Seasonal Highlight | Lunar New Year & Winter (December–February):
Abundant peach-red and soft pink Phalaenopsis orchids symbolize prosperity and good fortune, infusing the New Year with festive joy.

  • Spring (March–May):
A vibrant display of colorful Phalaenopsis orchids captures the vitality of nature’s renewal.

  • Summer (June–August):
Purple Vanda orchids interwoven with white Phalaenopsis create a cool, refreshing visual experience high above the city.

  • Autumn (September–November):
Showcasing world-leading cultivation techniques, yellow Dancing Lady orchids (Oncidium) and orange Chiyoda orchids together evoke the richness of the harvest season.

We warmly invite you to ascend to 400 meters above sea level and encounter Taiwan’s most refined expression of ecological aesthetics.
