The Polaris chronograph watch comes with two interchangeable straps, allowing for easy transition between styles and looks, highlighting the complex functions and rich features of this sports watch in a confident and refined manner. The dial structure is exquisite, consisting of a central disc, a central ring set with inlaid hour markers, and an outer ring with a tachymeter scale. The central disc and the hour ring feature a lacquered surface with a gradient color from light to dark, creating a visually deep and three-dimensional effect. The lacquering process for these two dial components is quite time-consuming, requiring precise craftsmanship as each layer of lacquer is applied by hand. The artisan first applies a layer of transparent lacquer, followed by the color lacquer, requiring mastery of color density and gradation to harmonize the two layers of lacquer. Subsequently, up to 35 layers of semi-transparent lacquer are applied to intensify the color and depth, creating a rich sense of depth. Finally, the components are polished to achieve a bright mirror effect, completing the entire crafting process.
The layout of the chronograph dial is timeless and simple, with the central chronograph seconds hand facilitating the precise reading of important timing information. The small dial at 9 o'clock (a significant change from previous models) and the 30-minute chronograph sub-dial at 3 o'clock are symmetrically positioned and feature running seconds display. The circular grained texture of the small dial contrasts sharply with the high-gloss lacquer and the tachymeter ring. The exquisite details of the 761 automatic winding mechanical movement can be observed through the sapphire crystal case back. This movement ingeniously combines outstanding performance with elegant mechanical devices and is a masterpiece of Jaeger-LeCoultre's watchmaking philosophy. This integrated chronograph movement is powered by twin barrels and equipped with a vertical clutch and column wheel timing device, with a power reserve of up to 65 hours.
