Open the enchanting fable belonging to Bvlgari's fantasy animals, where one chapter is dedicated to the peacock of Divas' Dream. The "Pavone" peacock is portrayed with its magnificent silky gradient feathers, resembling a goddess gracefully perched on the dial. Unfurling its splendid fan of feathers, the fan-shaped design is inspired by the mosaic of the Caracalla Baths in Rome, showcasing Bvlgari's rich stylistic vocabulary. Crafted with intricate inlay work, it presents an open fan posture ingeniously incorporating classical fan-shaped elements, with each arc meticulously outlined and layered to form a perfect structure. Finally, the finishing touches include rose gold, snow-set diamonds, sandstone, and peacock stone. The deep green hue of the peacock stone not only realistically portrays the beauty of the fan but was also used in ancient Rome as a protective stone to ward off misfortune. Additionally, the use of sandstone glass, originally created accidentally in the 14th century on the island of Murano in Venice, to decorate the lower part of the fan, proves that the brand has inherited the production prowess demonstrated by many rare Italian crafts.
This exquisitely magnificent and intricately complex peacock timepiece took a year to develop and underwent numerous adjustments. Powered by Bvlgari's in-house BVL 262 movement, its unique timing mechanism showcases extraordinary craftsmanship. The 12 o'clock position features a circular jumping hour window, while the upper half of the dial features a retrograde minute hand. To prevent its shadow from obstructing the dial, the hands are made of transparent blue sapphire crystal, and the minute hand's tip is marked with metal, showcasing meticulous design in every detail. Finally, the crown is adorned with a cabochon-cut chalcedony, and the peacock's emerald eye is embellished with grandmother-of-pearl, adding to its overall preciousness.
