JAEGER-LECOULTRE pays tribute to traditional Chinese culture with the launch of the new Métiers d'Art series "Tribute to Traditional Symbols". The legendary 14th-century Chinese ornament "Hai Shui Jiang Ya" has been given two new modern interpretations.
In the center of the 38mm 18K pink gold and platinum case beats JAEGER-LECOULTRE's in-house 2460 movement. This movement is distinguished by its exquisite exterior and compact construction (diameter 26.2mm, thickness 3.6mm).
The central hands on the dial trace graceful curves driven by the movement, seamlessly integrating with the dial. This movement boasts a 40-hour power reserve and is certified with the Geneva Seal for its place of origin and watchmaking craftsmanship. The 22K gold rotor is delicately engraved with decorative wave patterns, echoing the "Hai Shui Jiang Ya" motif on the dial.
The "Hai Shui Jiang Ya" motif on the dial is crafted with 220 gold threads and over 50 hours of meticulous work. It undergoes multiple layers of enamel to create the pattern, showcasing different colors and brightness. Each layer of enamel is fired individually in a kiln, and the master craftsman requires at least 70 hours to create the vibrant hues presented on the timepiece.
