Engineer Perpetual Calendar Wristwatch 41 Stainless Steel Edition Makes a Grand Debut
At the Geneva "Watches & Wonders" fair, Schaffhausen IWC Watches launched the new IWC Engineer series wristwatch. The highlight is the Engineer Perpetual Calendar Wristwatch 41, which for the first time combines Gérald Genta's Engineer watch design with Kurt Klaus's developed perpetual calendar in stainless steel. This watch not only continues the classic design of the Engineer series but also innovatively incorporates the perpetual calendar feature, demonstrating the brand's exceptional pursuit of detail and craftsmanship.
Engineer Perpetual Calendar Wristwatch 41 (Model IW344903) features a 41 mm stainless steel case. The proportions of each case component have been redesigned and fine-tuned to accommodate the perpetual calendar movement while ensuring perfect ergonomic design. The iconic "grid" structure and three subdials are imprinted on the dial base, adding a profound three-dimensional effect with its meticulous lines and grid pattern. The three perpetual calendar subdials are seamlessly integrated into the Engineer watch dial, creating a balanced layout.
The Engineer Perpetual Calendar Wristwatch 41 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 82600 caliber, featuring the Pellaton automatic winding system, providing up to 60 hours of power reserve, with the balance oscillating at a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, ensuring precise and stable timekeeping. The subdial at 6 o'clock combines the month display with the perpetual calendar moon phase indicator. Through a reduction gear system composed of two intermediate wheels, the moon phase display remains accurate with only a one-day deviation every 577.5 years.
The movement, exquisitely decorated with pearlescent, Geneva waves, and blued steel screws, is fully visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
